Brandenburg, Ky

We left Carlinville, IL last Saturday and headed to a project in Brandenburg, Ky.  After traveling almost about 300 miles we arrived at our new locations.  As there are no hook up at the church we are staying in a new campground right on the banks of the Ohio River in Mauckport, In. Brandenburg, Ky is just the other side of the river.

The campground isn’t much as campgrounds but does have full hook up and we are the only ones here and the view is the best we’ve ever had on a project. DSCN3532

We enjoy watching barges going up and down the river all day and night.  DSCN3577

We worked all week at Glad Tidings Christian Center in Brandenburg, Ky.  Marge and the other women painted all week.DSCN3543

I spend most of my week mudding and sanding drywall getting it ready to be painted.  DSCN3539

There are 7 large class rooms and two very long halls that need to be finished, sanded, primed, and given two coats of paint.  Hopefully by the end of this week they will all be finished and most of them painted.  There is a Gym and fellowship room that needs some finishing and painting also. We made great progress this week in spite of the fact that just about all of us have had colds. We pray that this week we will all get back to full strength.

Yesterday we all went to Louisville, Ky for the Centennial celebration from the Belle of Louisville.  There 7 or 8 other paddle wheel boats there to join in the celebration.

Many of the people who were there to ride on the boats dress for the occasion in period outfits.

We enjoyed our time there in spite of the cool cloudy weather.

One of the things RVers always enjoy is eating.  After church today we all pitched in for a fish fry. DSCN3578

As our day came to an end we enjoyed the beautiful sun set on the Ohio River. We’ve had a very productive week and are looking forward to the coming week.  Pray for the health of us all as we are recovering from colds.

I’ve tried a couple of new things this week with the blog so I hope they work out.
