Strawberry Shortcake

I know it’s been a couple weeks but we’ve been busy and didn’t have much to write about anyway. One thing we’ve sure enjoyed the weather here in Lakeland, FL. Most of the days have been in 70’s and it has rained only a couple of times and that was at night.

Work wise I worked helping to finishing up the sewer lines around the new building. photo 5-1

It was inspected last week and today we started covering all of our work.  It will take one more day to get it all covered and compacted. I don’t have any pictures but I helped repair and paint a deck and and ramp at the current church. Also helped replace three columns at a house that the church owns for missionaries to stay in when they are home on furlough. There were a few other thing but that’s all I can think of right now.

As there isn’t anything for the women to do Marge has been working on a new quilt.  I don’t have any pictures yet but when it’s done I’ll post a picture.

One day we went to Plant City to see another project and see some other MAPS Volunteers who are working there.  Plant City area is known the Strawberry Capital of the World. While we were there we stopped at Parkesdale’s Market for strawberry shortcake. DSCN3864

I’m sure that we will be back here again a couple of times before we leave the area.

We’ve attended church on Sundays and Wednesday evening at New Life Assembly.  The Pastor is a great Bible teacher and his messages are very interesting.  Also on two Sunday evenings we attended Gospel Concerts at two other churches.

One of church families had a barbeque dinner for us. We’ve not only worked but have enjoyed our time here and made new friends. Here is a picture of our 1-1

Here at the RV park there are a couple of signs posted on a deck on the lake and I just wondered why both of the signs were necessary.

We haven’t seen any alligators yet but others who have stayed here for several years assure me that they are there.

Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment.

Oh we were in a RV Park today and seen the same sign’s , don’t remember the name of the park tho. It was Avon park or Sebring, oh well I thought I would throw that in . Great work love hearing from you we will keep you all in prayers

  3. I know the feeling if complete a project. Those who come after you will enjoy the benefits of your labor. The strawberry shortcake was certainly a fitting reward.
