It seems that this week just flew by. Marge and I and finally feeling a lot better and are almost back to normal.(at least as normal as we can be) I’m sure that the weather we’ve had this week has helped. Sunny and highs in the 70’s all week. Couldn’t ask for better weather. This will change is this week with somewhat cooler temperatures, but it’s still going to be a nice week.
Last week I forgot to post a picture of Marge’s Christmas cactus. She has had this for several years and it seldom bloomed when we were in the house but has bloomed every year we have been on the road.
This week the fall decorations came down and the Christmas decorations went up.
And our Christmas Tree
We don’t have room for a lot of decorations as all of the decorations for the year fit in one bin stored in the basement.
Marge worked in the office part time this week. She spent one whole day addressing Christmas card to be sent out from Teen Challenge. She went to a ladies meeting and lunch with the Directors wife.
I had a good week. Monday the director was making a list of things I could do and in thinking of things he asked if I could build shoe rack for the dorms. I said sure. They have been trying to get them built for over a year but never found time to get them done. He showed me a room when a lot of cabinet door were stored. That’s what they wanted to build them out of. With no where to work I spent all day Monday cleaning out an area under a pavilion type structure where a lot of junk gets stored and setting a a little shop area where I could work. Tuesday through Thursday was spent deciding how I would going to build the racks out of the doors and cutting parts to assemble into shoe racks. I Cut enough part to assemble 24 racks.
This week I will assemble the rest of the part I’ve got ready and cut parts for another batch. The guys were really excited to be getting one for their dorm. I really need to get one made for at least all the guys that are currently here but they would really like to get about 65 of these made. I’m not sure I have enough doors to do that.
Saturday night Teen Challenge hosted a Christmas banquet for the Women Ministries of this area. The food was prepared and served by the Teen Challenge men. Those of you that know me know that I could stay out of the kitchen so I spent my afternoon helping to prepare the food and set it up for the dinner. Then Marge and I got to sit down and enjoy the meal.
Today we went to church at Dexter Assembly the church we have been attending while we are here. After church we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then picked up a few groceries to get us through the week.
Looking forward to another week here a Teen Challenge of Middle Georgia. We will still be here another three week before we head further south.
