Convention is Over

Friday morning.  It’s hard to believe the convention is over.  It’s been a wonderful week.  We’ve met a lot people and made a lot of new friends.

Wednesday night there were no planned activities just a time for fellowship and fun.  Some of the RVers near us got together for a fish fry.  Not only was the fish and food great but we had a great time just talking with some of the others that have been around a while.

Wednesday Night Fish fry and Fellowship

A little entertainment

The parts I had ordered for the RV arrived Wednesday and it only took a few minutes to install them.  They all fit and worked the only problem being it lightened our bank account by about $160 or should I say it fattened our credit card bill.  One of the things I’m finding out is you cannot just get a part that is bad.  You have to order the whole assembly.  The switch I need probably was a couple of dollar part but it was only available as part of the wiring harness.  At least now I can raise and operate the jacks without moving the switch back and forth and will be able to hook up when we are ready to leave.

Last night was a  banquet for all the MAP RVers.  The food here has been great.  If I keep eating like this I’ll gain about 50lbs.  Following the banquet was the final service were Rick DuBose, the North Texas District Superintendent spoke.  It was another great message of encouragement.

We’ve had almost perfect weather all week but this morning it is raining.  Glad it didn’t happen earlier this week as the campground we are in is referred to as the “Back 40” and it’s a long walk from here up to where all the activities were.

We are going to stay here through and weekend and just take it easy and maybe catch up on a few things like laundry etc.  We will pull out of here on Monday and start a show trip Southeast to our first assignment at Springdale camp in Odenville, Alabama.  We plan to be there until the end of November before we head further South to Florida.

One of the things I didn’t mention was that there have been a few vendors here displaying items from tools to maintenance supplies for RVs.  Yesterday morning during the morning session there was a drawing for items that were donated by the various vendors.  They had given away some nice tools, items for RVs, several other items.  The last drawing was for a I-pad donated by AG Financial Services and they pulled out Marge’s name.  She was so excited that she could hardly walk up front to get it.  All I’ve got to do now is get it set up so she can use it.

Let me leave you with one verse for today:

Galatians 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Well, That’s it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.
